TERMINAL MANAGEMENT OFFICE OF LILOY

Port of Liloy before the upgrading of then TMO Dapitan to a PMO in 2008 was under the jurisdiction of PMO-Ozamiz as one of their subports. And in 2009, the ten (10) government ports including the Port of Liloy and the two (2)  private ports were transferred to PMO-Dapitan.

It was then upgraded to a Terminal Management Office as a result of the approval of the Rationalization Plan of PPA by virtue of the Governance Commission for GOCCs(GCG) Memorandum Circular No. 04-2014.



PORT LOCATION

The Port of Liloy, TMO Liloy is about 2.10 kilometers from the national highway at approximately one hundred eighty-four (184) kilometers from the City of Zamboanga and about one hundred thirty-two (132) kilometers south of Dipolog City.  It lies on the northwestern side of the Zamboanga Peninsula at latitude 8 degrees 06 minutes North, and longitude 122 degrees 38 minutes East.

The Port of Liloy, TMO Liloy is connected by a concrete road to the national highway about 2.10 kilometers away, approximately one hundred eighty-four (184) kilometers from the City of Zamboanga and about one hundred thirty-two (132) kilometers south of Dipolog City.

  • Topography

Port of Lamao is located in north western part of the main island of Mindanao. It lies on the north-western side of the Zamboanga peninsula, bounded in the north by the Sulu Sea; south, the municipality of Tampilisan; east, the municipality of Salug; and west, the municipality of Labason.

  • Oceanography

The deepest portion near the RC Pier is about 25 meters.

  • Climatological Condition

There are two distinct seasons, the dry and rainy. Usually, the rainy season starts from the month of June and ends in December while the dry season occurs in the month of January to May. The waves in the port are very rough during the northeast monsoon or “Amihan”, which last from October to February but will be calm from March to middle of October.

  • Seismic Condition

The nearest active fault in the area is located at Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte.
